We synthesised our research into three core insights, concluding that within Aotearoa’s health landscape there is a;
Lack of Collaboration
Patients don’t know what they can request or expect from their doctors.
Lack of Engagement
Current portals are limited in function and don’t actively encourage patient engagement with their current, past and present health concerns.
Lack of Information
Current systems don't prioritise enhancing the general public's health literacy.
By re-framing these insights as opportunities, we set forth on our design direction.

Reframing the Problem
After discovering mHealth opportunities that could be implemented at Tend we set out to reframe our design problem. Through group ideation and iteration we established a proposed design direction.

The Result
The result was the addition of My Health. A health plan, that stores patient’s Results, Repeat Medications, Referrals, Immunisation and General Family Health Timeline. Creating the opportunity to connect patients and healthcare teams so to create better health outcomes.
We also transformed the home page by adding a notification section which added functionality by making a patient’s most important health information easier to find and access.

Health Concerns
Our research indicated that most people are only interested in health concerns that impact them currently.
Presenting patient records for both Active and Long-term health concerns makes accessing the relevant and required patient information intuitive and fast.
Each individually concern is filed with the relevant timeline, results and any additional referrals for each concern.
Notification icons appear on the concern to indicate there is a task or up-coming task associated with that concern.
